Stan Wood attended Indiana University in Bloomington while working as chief announcer and afternoon movie host for WTTV. During the Korean War he served as program director for the American Field Service Radio. He joined WISH-TV, Indianapolis, in 1957 and was named chief weathercaster. He was the first in the market to use color weather radar. During a paralyzing 1978 blizzard, Wood and his team members stayed on the air for 67 continuous hours. He was a popular figure on WISH-TV for more than 30 years.
