Bob Sieverssievers_bio had a 51-year career at WOWO, Fort Wayne, starting while still in high school. “I had been knocking on WOWO’s door for over a year, and they kept saying there is that kid again. Tell him to get lost.” Sievers never did get lost. For decades he hosted the early morning “Little Red Barn” program followed by his own show from 7 to 10am. The Bob Sievers Show on the 50,000-watt station was one of the highest rated morning programs in the country for a number of years. He retired in 1987, but continued to record segments for broadcast. He died September 3, 2007, at the age of 90.

According to Art Saltsberg, a former radio colleague, “He was a legend. It’s that simple. …It’s hard to imagine anyone being more popular or more suited to his job in the world than Bob Sievers.” Saltsberg also said, “The thing I’ve always told people about Bob Sievers is that the Bob Sievers you knew on air was the same Bob Sievers you would meet in real life. He was the friendliest, most caring person you could ever know.”
