In the late 1940’s Paul Lennon convinced an advertising agency it should find a client to sponsor Indiana University basketball on WTTV, Bloomington. With Lennon on mike, history was made in December, 1951, when the first U.S. college basketball game was televised. Six years later, Lennon started his own ad agency specializing in broadcast commercials. Lennon’s career also included air work at WTOM and WTTS in Bloomington. He went into TV in 1949 when WTTV signed on the air. He served as a president of the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers. Lennon died June 27, 2009.
