John A. Englebrecht

John Engelbrecht was part of the husband and wife team of John and Bettie who founded Evansville’s WIKY Radio in 1947. The family lived above the station. Their small company eventually became South Central Broadcasting and, while remaining privately owned, grew to 13 stations and a large number of Muzak franchises.

John Engelbrecht died in 1974.
