Bettychadwick-sullivan_bio Chadwick-Sullivan was the nation’s first female television photographer. She was hired by WTHI-TV, Terre Haute, in 1958 after working for the Brazil Daily Times newspaper. She carried her own heavy equipment and wore jumpsuits embroidered by her seamstress mother with her name and station call-letters. She was the first woman allowed to take pictures in the pit area and Victory Lane at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 1979 she became executive producer of WTHI-TV News. Betty Chadwick Sullivan died of cancer in 1981 at age 55.
